Our Trip to North Carolina

We returned to North Carolina for a visit with family & partnering churches.  We enjoyed the opportunity to see many of you while home, as we appreciate your prayerfulness for us and our Southwinds Church Planting team. 

Here are a few details of our schedule:

Sunday, September 13th @ 8:30pm.  Worship Service with First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain (our home church). 

Sunday, September 13th @ 5:30pm.  Meeting with First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain Senior Mission Team

Sunday, September 13th @ 7:00pm.  Evening Worship Service with First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain.  The 2009 Summer Mission Team shared from their July trip to Calgary, including a slide show presentation & information about the future of our minsitry in Calgary. 

Monday, September 14th @ 6:00pm.  Dinner with the Fallston Baptist Church Mission Team from Summer 2009.

Wednesday, September 16th.  Global Impact Weekend at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory NC.    Kickoff service begins at 7:00pm with Reception at 8:30pm.

Thursday, September 17th.  Global Impact Weekend at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory NC.    Senior Luncheon from Noon-2pm.  Leadership Meeting from 7-9pm.

Friday, September 18th.  Global Impact Weekend at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory NC.    Global Home Briefings from 7-9pm.  College Event from 7-9pm. 

Saturday, September 19th.  Global Impact Weekend at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory NC.    Women’s Event from 10am-Noon.  Men’s Event from 1-3pm.  International Banquet 6-8pm.

Sunday, September 19th.  Global Impact Weekend at Mountain View Baptist Church in Hickory NC.    Faith Commitment Service/Speak in Sunday School Classes at 9:00am & 10:30am.   Debriefing at 4:30pm.  Life Commitment Service at 6:00pm.  

Workin’ On My Serve

Southwinds Church celebrated Family Day on Sunday, September 6th at Auburn Bay.  Just under 100 attendees were here to join in a special day of music & scripture from the Southwinds Children.  They shared music & lessons learned from “Boomerang Express” which they learned in the children’s Sunday School program over the summer.  “Follow!  Worship!  Live Through Him!”

The children completed the program singing “All Things.”  This song focuses on Philippians 4:13.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Other favourite songs include “Workin’ On My Serve”,   “Boomerang Express” and “Gonna Follow You.”

Southwinds Church hosts a variety of children’s programs.
